Why, why, why?

I wonder ...

i) why do people come late for Mass?

ii) why do they still walk in so slowly when they are late?

iii) some will turn up before the gospel reading, some will turn up just before the communion? How can you turn up late for such an appointment with God?

iv) if you are late for the 9am Mass, there is still the 11am Mass ... if you are still late, there is a 6pm Mass ....

v) why do parents allow their children to (a) do colouring during Mass, (b) crunch on cereals during Mass, (c) do all sorts of funny things except sitting still during Mass ....

Ok, these are just some of the questions that I have been asking for sometime ... I hope that when I have my own kiddos, I have the wisdom to educate them to respect God and to see that there is lots more to walk away with from each Mass rather than to spend that one hour doing colouring/drawing/eating cereals ...

Its not easy when u have kids to focus on Mass at all. Its either bring them or don't.

No one can pass this test unless the kid is very understanding to the parent and keeps quite.

Late comers there will always be, if you feel you can talk to them invite them as refresher in RCIA to help them renew their faith.

Thats being loving to them instead of judging them on their actions.

Your "chosen" remember so use your gifts.

I always tot giving young kids some coloring to do during mass is a great idea leh. I tot that kids too young won't be able to understand the meaning of mass hence keeping them busy and at the same time be in the environment of God's presence and prayer was better than leaving them somewhere else.

Great tat our church still have children's homily once in a while to help them understand the readings better.

Maybe.. we might suggest to print colouring pics of religious themes for parents for young children during mass when we don't have children liturgy. :P
ya ... maybe not so bad afterall ... hahahaha

why not have children lit every sun? why only one sunday in one month?

Hmmmm why is fatso(fides) here hor ......lol

Kids Lit only 1 sunday a mth coz as usual no ppl want to serve in that ministry. So thats all they can do.

Cry room is sometimes too crowded or kids still run out. I think u don't notice all these things is because you are at the organ area most of the times.

I used to give Keefe religious paper colouring books , then he had a habit of asking me to buy so many since he liked colouring so much, now is Daddy can u get me sketch books? But he is good at drawing characters so I get it for him. Small one also tries to hold pencil to draw sometimes.

Again I tell u it's not a simple thing to handle the kids at mass, so many will rebel and not come to church as they always get scolding.Even Keefe also doesn't like coming to church, it was hard for us.

So we remind him of his friends that Jesus has for him at church so then he realise and makes an effort to go without nagging.

At least today you can find him even go to his friends and give peace of christ.

Waitlah once your turns come with kids then its a whole new story.
aiyo, fides is not fatso la... hahaha ... she is pretty girl now - she rebonded her hair ok ... hahahaha

ya, wait till my turn comes ... i may end up becoming those parents who turn a blind eyes to what the kiddos are doing and just let them run around coz i will be too tired screaming at them ... hahahahaha

hmm... jokes aside .... these suggestions are good for me to KIV and use them when it really happens...

ya, being at the organ area means that i cannot see all these going-ons.... =) thankfully, i will be back at the organ area next week ... hahahaha ... but sometimes, i find myself enjoying the Mass more if i am at the pew =)
