Fitty's Injury

Friday, June 29, 2007
Praise the Lord!

Just called the car workshop. The girl told me that Fitty can be discharged by next weekend *a bit long but ... nvm la ...*

Most importantly, she told me that there is no internal injury to Fitty's engine - this, I am relieved to hear ... *poor Fitty*

2nd Tuesday with Morrie

Sometimes you cannot believe what you see; you have to believe what you feel. And if you are ever going to have other people trust you, you must feel that you can trust them too – even when you are in the dark. Even when you are falling

~Page 61, Tuesdays with Morrie

hmm, from my pt of view, not so much of trusting other people but more importantly, trust God.

Tuesdays with Morrie

Wednesday, June 27, 2007
"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they are busy doing things they think are important. This is because they are chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning."

~from page 43, Tuesdays with Morrie...

I can't agree any more what this chunk of words. Many a times, I get too caught up with the world, thinking that by pushing myself harder, I am giving myself and/or the people around me a better life... that may not always be the case ...

Monday, I had a car accident... thankfully, no one was injured. So I had to start taking public transport - not so bad but need some getting used to...

Tuesday - attended two meetings in the afternoon ... it didn't leave any pleasant after-taste. I saw some ugly things and I hope that I won't end up like that. However, at the end of the day, I received my CD - so that sort of cheered up an otherwise tiring day (my neck and shoulders were aching like mad from Monday's accident)...

Wednesday - went to see doctor for the ache .. the doctor was cute ... I saw him earlier and I thought he was a little kid. haha. He did not give me MC but just some medicine and gel for my aches... went to the library, found the book - Tuesdays with Morrie and was reading it since after dinner...

Friends who know me know that I have stopped reading for a long time - probably I have realised that it is a waste of time reading novels, and other books are too boring... yes, this is the first time that I am reading a book continuously ... hope to gain new in sights to my life ...

Maybe it is a blessing in disguise that I am now without my own transport. I am able to do things that I would not be able to do with the car e.g, just drop off at any MRT station to go for shopping/library whenever I feel like it ...

New process begins tonight! :)

Thursday, June 21, 2007
tonight is the opening night for the new process ... wonder who God has called this time round =)(for a start, all the new facilitators are left handed ... haha)

i just noticed that there are two signboards in my parish ... one says something like "come and find peace...", the other says "God knows your past and He holds your future" ...

yea, i think the two signboards have been there for a long time but i only saw them these few days .... haha

i feel comforted by these words and reflected about my own process. yes, it was when i needed a rest and peace that i began to search and coming to St. Anthony, i found the peace ... joining the process has let me re-focused on life's priority and on the days leading up to my baptism, i could feel Him telling me that everything will be alright and He knows my past and He knows what lies ahead for me ... i am really thankful for the process, for the people that I have meet along the way ...

i am also thankful that there are people coming forward, to give their time, energy and effort to help this new batch of enquirers. i pray that they will have a fruitful journey and may His word be a guide for them...Amen.

Ang Katawan Ni Kristo

Monday, June 11, 2007

Beautiful hymn ..

can't wait to receive the CD in my mail ...

Click on to listen to a 'sample' version of the song ...

the first time i heard the hymn was when the 11am choir sang it during one of the Mass ... the singer's voice was nice and the song suited him well... looking at the lyrics, it speaks of what makes a Christian family and that we are all a part of the Christian family because of what Jesus has unconditionally done for us ... His is the perfect love...

Ang Katawan Ni Kristo
In the presence of our God, as we gather here in Christ, feel the Spirit breathe upon us, the breath of life, grace and divine.

We have come to break the bread; we have come to share our lives. Let us bring these fruits to the table, the love of God, yours and mine!

Refrain

Behold the Body of Christ, Jesus our Saviour and Life!
Rejoice O people of God! We are the Body of Christ!

When we gather in our homes, through our prayers and our meals, we are fed and nourished together, our families, broken and blessed.

In the household of the Lord, where we come to share the meal, we are fed the words of our Saviour, one family, strengthened and healed.

In the presence of our God, by the justice that is shown,
We will build a kingdom together;
The love of Christ given to all

Work Expectations

Thursday, June 07, 2007
Realised that the girls here like to keep things to themselves and complain to their bosses whenever they felt that they are 'ill' treated or when the other party does not give them the information that they need.

at first, i was not very sure about the causes of their unhappiness until today when one came in to my room to ask me some things and indirectly sharing with me her complaints...

it dawned on me that these people are habouring expectations abt how others should behave - just because that person has worked here long enough, just because he/she thinks that the other party has prior experience or is considered an experience staff ...

they are harbouring expectations based on prior knowledge for e.g. eh, last time my company not like that one... last time we do not do it this way ... (at this point, i felt like telling them straight in the face that things change and you need to modify your expectations ... rudely put, it would be "hello, wake up from your idea .. each place functions differently... if previous place is good, then why leave???)

they failed to see the point that they need to communicate with the other person, modify their expectations and make the necessary changes along the way ... ... well, i do not blame her for i myself fall into the trap at times ...

i guess i can only ask God for more wisdom, patience and understanding from myself and also for the rest of the people...

for changes to take place, it needs two hands to clap ... Jia you lor

People Management

Tuesday, June 05, 2007
Gosh!

Apart from learning about the business, I am also learning to understand the dynamics of the people interaction here - especially the group of girls assisting us. I think there is some misunderstanding, some expectation gap between the old and the new and some form of communication breakdown ... How can I help? What new ways can I use ...

How to be an effective manager?

Some days ...

Monday, June 04, 2007
some days i feel like running away ... why dun the company post me to some country so that i won't have to go visiting ...

yes, i am referring to the expectations that i need to show face at my mum's place or even my in-laws at least once a week or once every two weeks ...

some days, i am just too tired to go for such visiting ...

some days, dearie just wants time out in our own place ...

some days, we are just too busy (ok, this is not a very good reason)...

but really, some days, we just want to laze around in our own house, get the housework done so that we can rest, laze around ...

so, i would feel guilty pangs now and then that i cannot even turn up once a week for dinner (more guilty when i cannot go and see my parents coz my FIL is staying with us). i try to go for lunch some days but still, it just doesn't seem proper ...

ok ... just some ramblings ... erm, anyone has any suggestion on how to juggle?

Let go and Let God

Friday, June 01, 2007
What I had learnt on Wednesday ...

there is only this much you can plan/do, there is only this much you can control... it is only when you let go and let God take control, then you will be able to see the plan being unveiled, not in the way you want, but in the way He wants us to see...

during the Mass, we had a paralit (which was developed at the really last minute). We blindfolded the facilitators plus Father T. and led them round the compound. this brought us back to our opening night - where we were led round the church compound blindfolded. We need to depend on the person leading us. the journey will be easy if we trust that person. if there is no trust, and we try to walk on our own in the dark, we will struggle and find the journey tough. this is the same idea brought forth in the TGM ... (see how we started with blindfolding and ended with blindfolding) ...

Father T ended with his homily that our faith is all about our walk with Jesus, Heavenly Father and Holy Spirit. We need to continuously trust Him to let Him lead us. We may not know what is going to happen next. We may not know what will come across our way but just walk on with Him and believe that He has the best plans for us...

Thank you Lord for guiding us in our preparation of the Thanksgiving Mass. Lord, I thanked you for your guidance and blessings that you have so generously sent to us. Lord, I asked that you continue to guide us and may we open our hearts to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, to do your will and not my own personal will. Thank you Lord, Amen.
